Restricted Areas

All vehicles are considered to be for on road use only, unless otherwise specified. These vehicles are to remain on roads with sealed surfaces. This excludes roads such as those used to access camping areas and National Parks. Braking Systems & Electrical Connections All caravans available for touring hire are fitted with electric brakes, and as a result all tow vehicles are required by law to be fitted with an electric brake controller which applies the caravan brakes when the tow vehicle brakes are applied. This is a requirement by law.

It is the responsibility of the hirer to have a brake controller fitted to the tow vehicle. It is also suggested that a ‘hot wire’ is fitted to the tow vehicle. This will enable the caravan fridge to be run on 12 volt while travelling. NOTE: Caravans to Go can supply an adapter to control caravan brakes.

Loading and vehicle compatibility

Towbar specs are available from our office, and it is strongly recommended that the hirer confirms the towbar capacity on the tow vehicle is suitable for the caravan that it may be towing. Drivers All drivers must be at least 25 years of age, and hold a current Australian drivers licence. The tow vehicle is to have current registration, and have comprehensive insurance policy.
